“Memory Matters” refers both to the central importance of cultures of remembrance for our European society and as well as to the individual reference points of our memory. In concrete terms, the motto for the year means further strengthening the importance of cultures of remembrance in academia, the arts, public discourse and the arts in Europe. We also strive to further pluralize the reference points of remembrance.
“Memory Matters” is the title of the CPPD festivals of plural cultures of remembrance.
In 2024, the CPPD will organize a decentralized festival series in various German cities. All-day events will be organized that include workshops, artistic positions and concluding discussions and are dedicated to the diverse topics of a pluralistic culture of remembrance.
